Welcome to Meadowlark Homestead Farm, a small diversified family run farm in Trumansburg NY. We are rooted in organic & regenerative practices and have deep respect for our animals and the land.

We raise Pastured & Organic Fed Lamb, Chicken and Eggs.

Our Values

Regenerative & Certified Organic Farm

No toxic pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, or GMOs are used in any parts of our farm.

We are a certified organic farm and also employee many additional regenerative and sustainable practices to support our soil, ecosystem, & watershed health. Some of our practices include:

Soil Health: Cover Cropping, Rotational grazing with lower stocking rates, Perennial crops, Pasture over-seeding

Silvopasture: We’ve planted over 200 trees in our pastures as forage crops and shade and cleared our hedgerows of invasive plants to let naturalized trees like Black Locust & Walnuts grow.

Ecosystem & Watershed Health: Our property, like many here in the fragile Finger Lakes ecosystem, is located right above & drains into a pristine stream that feeds Taughannock Falls & Cayuga Lake. Our hedgerow plantings, low tillage practices, and grazing practices all ensure there is not nitrogen or other harmful runoff into the greater ecosystem that supports us.

Pasture Based & Humanely Raised Meat & Eggs

We prioritize animal welfare and health through all our animal husbandry practices.

We grow hearty breeds that are well adapted to our climate & ecosystem. Our pasture system not only supports soil health but also animal heath with low stocking rates to reduce stress.

Sheep are very special as they, like other ruminants, can not only sustain themselves on grass & forage, but they can thrive on it. Our herd is raised 100% on our property and is out in the pastures roaming free under open the sky almost all of the year. For the coldest winter months they have access to a barn and organic hay but always can go outside to enjoy the sunshine.

Our egg and meat chicken flocks cannot live on grass alone, but live out on pasture, foraging for insects. They are fed certified organic feed from a local feed mill that supports local organic grain farmers. The pasture mobiles they have access to are much healthier than conventional barns with fresh air and sunlight.

We sell primary through our on farm, farm store. The shortest distance from the farm to your plate!  Open Everyday 9-7pm.
